Although Maryknoll has worked in Sudan on and off for the past twenty years, its present mission to the war-torn country only began in 1998.
Maryknollers today assist the people in restoring their lives and homes while offering a presence of God's love.

Thomas Tiscornia comes from Tenafly, New Jersey, to serve as a pastoral agent among the people of the Nuba Mountains.
Despite the dangers of falling bombs and civil war, Fr. Tom felt called to serve as Christ's light in the darkness. 
Tom had previously worked worked in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.and was Maryknoll's Superior in Africa

Kenneth Thesing hails from Lewiston, Minnesota. He is serving as Director of the Jesuit Relief Services in Juba, Southern Sudan.
Ken had also been African Regional Superior. And for a short time, had initiated a new mission in Mozambique
