Golden Jubilee - I never thought I'd make it. Put simply - it has been fifty years of blessings. My four years in the States after ordination allowed me an opportunity to become acquainted with parish life - its problems and opportunities - a good beginning to my priestly life. The assignment to Tanganyika, East Africa in 1955, could not have been better. What a privilege and blessing to work with and learn from the Wasukuma people in the Diocese of Shinyanga for nearly twenty-two years. I have many happy memories of those years. Yes, there were disappointments, failures, a lot of mistakes, but the gentleness of that people makes me forget the bad days.

The apostolates in Kenya - city rather than rural ministries - afforded me new challenges and blessings.

Fifty years - practically all of them in Tanzania and Kenya - no regrets. I would do it all again tomorrow, but hopefully I would avoid repeating the same mistakes. Now, in retirement in Kenya, I'm working on my Doctorate. Mine is in golf. The next fifty years are looking good.
