As the major city in East Africa, Nairobi has always played a key supportive role to Maryknoll's missions throughout Africa. Recent years have seen quite a few priests and brothers working in this urban setting – both in parishes and in specialized ministries. Today there are nine Maryknollers in the Nairobi area.

Fr. Makarios Isaac is an associate priest working with Maryknoll. An Egyptian by birth, he has had a long relationship with Maryknollers and spent many years in Ontario, Canada
