The late bishop Tiberius Mugendi told people that Dick Quinn left the
diocese of Kisii because of his love for video productions. If he had said
that I was looking For the latest technology for instant pictures and to
improve the audiovisual capability of the first pastoral center in Kenya,
Viongozi Center, he would have been correct. Nineteen years in electronic
communication changed my life and my whole understanding of how you
communicate the Word of God. This electronic ministry has enables me to
reach thousands of Catholics across the continent and beyond. My pulpit is
everywhere. Hundreds of people have said how grateful they are for our
African videos on pastoral and social concerns. Our educational library is
the finest anywhere. Recently several Lutheran pastors told me how they have
used our videos in workshops and seminars.
Our objective is to tell the stories of faith yet untold. One recent video, Servants of Love, the story of Fr. Godfrey Biseko tells such a story. It will soon be aired on Kenya Broadcasting Company. To date we have produced more than 170 productions of every kind. We are about 85% self-reliant and are very competitive with the world of video productions. In video, quality is the name of the game. It doesn't come cheap and no one pays attention to you until you prove yourself on the screen. Seeing is believing.
